Merry Christmas and Thank You, Santa!

Santa was good to me this Christmas. And here I thought I had been naughty all year.

Thanks! I'm going to try out the LotR box tonight or tomorrow, just as soon as I can build these new cards into a deck.

Must admit I tempted by the LOTR card game..., just concerned it could draw me away from the painting table!

Is it easy to get into? Are the rules simple to follow?

The LotR card game is awesome. You really only need the starter box and you're good to go. Of course, the adventure packs draw you in, as you get new cards and of course new adventures. But for getting into it, the boxed set can keep you busy for a long while. It did for me!

I wouldn't say the rules are easy but they're not overly complicated. Like most card games, you learn the game phases and the cards themselves have the majority of the rules.

I like it because it's a solo or co-op game. I can play it whenever I want, or my son joins me to play a few hands. It really captures the LotR feel, and the quests are definitely in the Tolkien spirit. I highly recommend it.

"the adventure packs draw you in?"

They don't draw you in, they're like crack in card format!

I agree with that. The adventure packs are very cool and make this game so engrossing. It's like getting a new game with each pack, and they follow a plot line too!
